Good Eats

Below you will find some of our favorite places to eat in and around San Luis Obispo.  They are in no particular order and the price range is large, however when our kids were in school we always enjoyed knowing where the best food was located.

If you happen to read this and your student is renting from me, I am happy to assist you with birthday cakes and special celebration deliveries.  Just call or email us and we will do our best to assist you.

Taco Roco SLO- $1.00 tacos on Tuesdays.  Carnitas is our favorite.  http://tacoroco.com/locations.html

Cool Cats Cafe – Burgers, fries, shakes.  Several locations: SLO, Pismo Beach and Hawaii.  http://www.coolcatcafe.com

Bon Temps Creole Cafe SLO-Yes it is attached to a hotel, but closee to Poly and very good.  Great Breakfasts and lunch/dinner.  Live music several night per week.  http://bontempscreolecafe.com

Splash Cafe SLO and Pismo Beach– Order the clam chowder.  http://www.splashcafe.com

Pepe Delgados’s Mexican SLO- Closed Mondays.  Great lunch specials.

Firestone Grill SLO – Downtownn SLO.  Great BBQ, fries and tri-tip salad.  This is really a sports bar with inside and outside seating. Your student will like it.  http://www.firestonegrill.com

Big Sky Cafe SLO – Downtown SLO all meals are good, and they use local organic food when possible.  http://www.bigskycafe.com

Giuseppe’s Fine Dinning – Pismo Beach is better than the SLO location. http://www.giuseppesrestaurant.com

Shell Beach Brewhouse – Great place for an evening stroll after dinner.  Cute neighborhood and ocean front cliffs.  Just head down one of the street towards the ocean.  http://www.shellbeachbrewhouse.com/#!

The Boardroom Pismo Beach – A place where locals know to go and tourists find if they like a large interesting selection of beer.  The beer is great, the food is okay. Let the girls shop and the men can watch sports.  http://www.theboardroompismobeach.com

The Libertine Pub Morro Bay – When my boys are in town visiting I can convince them to go dragon boat paddling with me if we get to stop for a beer after all the exercise.  Great selection for beer and food is good.  http://www.thelibertinepub.com

Blue Sky Coastal Cafe Morro Bay – Great breakfast burritos and the perfect stop before/after water activities in Morro Bay.  Close to Sub Sea Tours and the Happy Face Yellow flags.  http://blueskyecafe.com

Old West Cinnamon Rolls Pismo Beach – So yummy!  When visiting your student go get a cinnamon roll, cup of coffee and walk down to the pier to enjoy a morning stroll and amazing view.  When returning to your car stop back in and grab one to go.  Your student should be up and ready to  enjoy it around 11am.  http://www.oldwestcinnamon.com/Welcome.html

Thursday night farmers market downtown SLO has great food also.  If we did not live here we might go enjoy it more often.  WE love visiting the farmers market in Boise Idaho since we are tourists when in town.  Funny how that happens.  Enjoy!!
